i have a HP notebook laptop with a screen i can rotate and lay down and use as a "ipad" and i want to download a virtual keypad so that i do not have to use my external mouse,when i rotate and kay down the screen it covers my present keyboard.

You can use onboard, it is in a default install.

To answer you duplicated question, Onboard is 'in a default install' (see above. This means it is ALREADY insatalled. Just add it in the Unity panel or even on the desktop and you can launch it easily.

If you have an open question and another question is DIRECTLY related. Don't make another question. It's part of the same issue.

how do i find "onboard default"

Search for it in dash, you can show the dash by pressing the SuperL key (aka 'Windows key')

Yes I know, add a shortcut to it on the desktop. I'll give you the command because this is getting long now:

ln /usr/share/applications/onboard.desktop ~/Desktop/onboard.desktop

You can now double click the desktop icon and launch the keyboard.
