Why is the Octave 3.2 branch?

Asked by Chris Jones

It is a conscious decision to keep Octave 3.2 branch in the repositories and the most up to date version of Octave, or is it just an omission? The 3.4 branch has been the stated stable version since Feb 2010 and version 3.4.2 has been around since June. It has significant improvements over the 3.2 branch in terms of Matlab compatibility and in-built graphing routines.

It's at the 3.2 version because it was not updated on the repo. You can report a bug about this. Unfortunately there is no PPA for install the latest version of Octave.

Can you help with this problem?
