Nvidia geforce 5200 issue with 10.10

Asked by Sam Alvey

So basically,

I can get ubuntu to give me the option to install the restricted driver for said card in Admin - Additional drivers.
However when this is completed it tells me to restart and i do. But on reboot it will freeze past the grub menu and wont show the splash screen or will end up dropping into busybox.

I have no idea what is causing the problem.

Should be:

sudo apt-get install nvidia-96

Should be ok. I believe there is a dependency bug but we'll see

I had th esame issue even when installing Nivida-Current with Ubuntu 11.10. I fixed it by going into recovery mode and selecting "Resume Normally" after it booted into Ubuntu it worked every time after that..Weird I know, hope it helps.

Can you help with this problem?
