NVIDIA Quadro P400 driver

Asked by Ulrich Rivers

Hi,

I recently added the propriety driver for my Quadro p400 card, with disastrous results.
my machine keeps freezing and won't boot until I physically remove the card from my machine.
My Intergrated card works fine.

Im wondering how I can get this card to work.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Kind regards

What are you using the Ubuntu install to do? You don't always need the proprietary video drivers.

I am using the Ubuntu machine for photo editing, video editing and cad. I will run the commands as soon as I get back home as I took a few days holiday.

The built in nouveau drivers seem to have lots of issues for the p400, random system freezes that prevent me from working. I can only work once I take the card out.

Thanks for your feedback, I'll get the output over the weekend.
