Upgrade to 352.55 available anytime soon?

Asked by Chocwise

The version 352.41 has a serious problem with crashes. Allow me to quote the Nvidia Driver Update Page:
"Fixed a bug that caused applications using OpenCL or CUDA with OpenGL interopability to crash when using GLX indirect rendering."
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/92826/en-us

For me that is mainly VLC. It kills my whole X Server and sometimes even the whole system isn't responding anymore when playing videos.

So my question is: Do I just have to lean back and wait a week or two until you guys package the 352.55 version and distribute it through the repo, or do I have to upgrade manually, which I'm not a big fan of.

Thank you for the answer in advance!

I suggest you report a bug. There are PPAs with later versions of packages.

You might consider using an updated version from a PPA, e.g. https://launchpad.net/~graphics-drivers/+archive/ubuntu/ppa
(they even provide a 358.09 version)

Can you help with this problem?
