Quadro K2000M support

Asked by Sam

I am using Ubuntu 14.04 on a HP EliteBook 8570w with an Nvidia Quadro K2000M. I am running Matlab 2015a and require CUDA version 6.5 (or higher) to be able to use Matlab's GPU computing features.

Currently I have driver version 331 installed and this provides me with CUDA 6.0. I would like to update to version 346 to upgrade the available CUDA version. Unfortunately, driver version 346 s not listed through the "additional drivers" window. (Version 331 is the latest version I can select)

Does this mean that I will have to wait until driver version 346 becomes available for the K2000M until I can make use of CUDA 6.5?

As a intermediate solution you could try using a higher version of the NVidia driver from a PPA.
E.g. https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ubuntu/ppa contains versions up to nvidia-graphics-drivers-352 for trusty.

Remarks: No knowledge whether this will enable CUDA 6.5
Standard disclaimer for PPAs (use at your own risk, no support in the official Ubuntu channels, etc.) apply.
