ntp user in login list

My login list has a blank user which when hovered over says "Log in as ntp". How do i get rid of it?

In the end I found you could exclude users by adding

[greeter]
Exclude=ntp

to /etc/gdm/custom.conf

I still don't know why it did it in the first place though.
