NTFS support for Oneiric

Asked by Tong Sun

Hi, which package provides NTFS support for Oneiric?
ntfs-3g or ntfsprogs? (It's used to bentfs-3g).

BTW, there seems to be big changes going on for Oneiric, where can I read about these big changes (at least package-wise) for Oneiric?

thanks

Ok, should still be ntfs-3g, but why ntfsprogs is conflicting with ntfs-3g now in Oneiric?
ntfsprogs contains ntfsclone, where can I find ntfsclone now in Oneiric?

Thanks

Yes, ntfs-3g is the module you will need. It is standard on a fresh install, but gets dropped of in some upgrades for some reason. ntfsclone is in ntfs-3g.

I don't know about changes for 10.11 Oneiric - it is final-release stable AFAIK, but the release notes for it are here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/OneiricOcelot/ReleaseNotes

If by chance you meant precise pangolin 12.04, then we won't see any solid release notes for a while yet - it's still in alpha. You can always keep your ear to the ground over on Ubuntu Forums though:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1867921

That section is for the alpha and beta testing, and most new things get discussed there sooner rather than later.
