RISCV Ubuntu 22.04 nodejs

Asked by Marius Alexandersen

Hi, I'm wondering why nodejs ( and chromium for that matter ) is not available on the RISCV port of Ubuntu 22.04. They seem to build successfully on the openSuse Build Server so is there a reason it's not included in the repo?

As far as I can see, a nodejs package for riscv has been added to the development release Ubuntu kinetic (currently in kinetic-proposed, version 16.14.2+dfsg1-1ubuntu3).

Unfortunately that has at least one dependency that cannot be met with the standard packages in jammy (libicu71).

If you urgently need nodejs for riscv on Ubuntu jammy, then you could try manually installing libicu71, libnode93 and nodejs for kinetic (and eventually other required dependencies).

(Disclaimer: not an officially supported package combination)

Can you help with this problem?
