This bug was fixed in the package nfs-utils - 1:1.2.0-2ubuntu3

---------------
nfs-utils (1:1.2.0-2ubuntu3) karmic; urgency=low

  * nfs-kernel-server: don't cal invoke-rc.d nfs-common in the postinst, this
    is redundant anyway and the nfs-common init script is gone now.
    LP: #441855.

why have you marked this bug 'invalid'? It certainly wasn't, it was a real bug that has been fixed.

 Re: nfs-common borked (from ubuntu forums)

My eee-pc 1000 (NBR) is affected, too. Its symptoms include a missing file - "/etc/init.d/nfs-common". However, in Launchpad, bug #441855 Steve says he's fixed this.

If so, how do I retrieve the fixed modules? Synaptic doesn't update nfs-common, nor nfs-kernel-server, and it doesn't list nfs-utils.

This was a real bug that has been fixed in recent versions of nfs-utils. It is inappropriate for you to use "convert to question" on other users' valid bugs, please don't do this in the future.

The fix for this package is to install the newer version of nfs-kernel-server, not the new version of nfs-common. /etc/init.d/nfs-common is not "missing", it has deliberately been removed.

Can you help with this problem?
