nfs-kernel-server crashes and hangs clients

Asked by Mip Mipendorf

ubuntu 14.04.1 latest updates. nfsd stops working, and can't be restarted except by a reboot. When clients try to mount and send data to nfs mounted shares (using rsync and rsnapshot), nfsd stops and the client hangs, eventually needing a reboot.

Evidently there's a debian patch for this issue - but I can't tell whether ubuntu has release one, or how I can patch my system.

Thanks,

M

If you have a bug you don't need a question as well

Thanks - you know, I'm not *positive* the bug is my issue. I'm running nfs-kernel-server 1:1.2.8-6ubuntu1.1, which is the release that comes with 14.04.1, though the symptoms are the same as the bug, and came after I upgraded to this version last Friday. Should I remove the bug attached to this question?

You should send your comments to that bug, in order to keep all information in one place.
Also you should test the fix, which should be in the "proposed" repositories by now (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed) or be downloaded directly from the "overview" link at the tlop of this page.

Can you help with this problem?
