Setting up wireless in Ubuntu

Asked by vanhep

I've recently installed Ubuntu 9.01 karmic OS on my PC having vista. My Ubuntu resides inside Vmware.

I don't see a wireless interface listed when I've used the following command:
lshw -C network.

It shows only the Ehternet Interface. No wireless.

What are the steps I need to do now to set up and get connected to a wireless from Ubuntu.

I'm a new user to Ubuntu. Any advise would help a lot.

Thanks

Hi, once a long time ago I use ubuntu on vmware, when you install ubuntu you have to set if you give access to internet, because you use host access, look at the preferences on the windows side somewhere there there's an option to the internet. I think that the guest use the host conection to get access.

Hope this help you
Pablo
