how to disconnect the broad band connection

hai today i get the BSNL broad band Internet connection, i connect the net through the adsl modem i didnt know how to disconnect this connection please help me.

HI :)

I think it's just - click on network-manager icon (the two tele-screeens up by the calendar/clock). There should be 2 connections in theree but they might be on different tabs. You should be able to effectively "Pause On" with one one and leave the other one working. Trial and error might help work out which connection is which although usually the auto-generated labelling is good.

My answer ddin't seem to work when i tried it on my old install and also didn't work on my new one . I couldn't even remember what the command is to restart networking, something like

/etc/inid.d/networking restart

but that didn't work this time! Sorry, good luck with this!
