How do I join xbox live with dns server problems?

Hi, I have been trying to join xbox live for the past few days now. My problem is that my DNS server won't respond when I try to join xbox live. I called xbox support and they said there might be a problem with my routing table. I looked up my routing table information, and saw that the information doesn't look correct. What should I do?
