Ubuntu 8.1 dosent support my Toshibe Satellite A80....

Asked by Syed Faisal

I have installed Ubuntu 8.1. I am not able to connect to the internet. The network icon on the panel says. It says 'Not connected to network'. Does Ubuntu not support Toshiba Satellite A80? If it does then how do I connect to internet to sownload drivers and upgrade the OS?

Does any other linux sofware support toshiba satellite A80?

Hi Syed,

You're having trouble with your network adapter, aren't you? Would you mind to give us more specific about your network adapter by running these command from terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal):
$ lspci -vv | grep Network
$ lspci -vv | grep Ehternet

Cheers...

Hi Syed,

I used to have Toshiba Satellite A80 and I installed Ubuntu 6.06 and then upgraded to 8.04 without any problems. Probably you could try 8.04 which is a long term support release.

I hope this helps.

Can you help with this problem?
