Networking is constricted after making an ovpn connection

Asked by Michael Lustfield

Binary package hint: network-manager

Description: Ubuntu jaunty (development branch)
Release: 9.04

In Jaunty, I'm seeing an issue with network-manager. When I make a connection to an OpenVPN server, I am able to communicate to every system within the network. However, all of my other connections die off. For instance, I'm unable to reach google.com.

One of the great things about OpenVPN is that I've always been able to make the VPN connection and not worry about any active connections being terminated.

network-manager:
  Installed: 0.7.1~rc3.1.git4cf2da146-0ubuntu1

you can configure networkmanager openvpn to only route a few routes through the VPN.

Where do I set this?

From my experience with ovpn in 8.10, any connections I created prior to the vpn being established were maintained.

This started working after an update.
