Wifi unstable with AR9565 network adaptor

Asked by Laurens Kils-Hütten

Since I think 14.10 I am struggeling to get a reliable wifi connection. Now finally I found a solution here:

https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2358900&p=13634983#post13634983

I just hope people are aware of this problem, and that it can get fixed in the distro, as it's been super annoying...

Keep up the good work,

Laurens

So, what is the question here? Does the fix in the link you gave not work?

Yes, the fix seems to work, wifi has been stable throughout, since I
applied the fix yesterday. I suppose that should be good news for quite
a few users.

My point is, that I really hope this issue gets cared for upstream. To
my impression this problem has been around for almost two years now, and
has really been sort of a show stopper for Ubuntu on my Acer ES1-311.

I googled to find a solution many times before, and found that the issue
seems to have been brought up over and over, however any of proposed
workarounds *so far* seemed to be misleading and basically didn't work.

So for me, this issue seems to be solved - so I hope this fix will now
propagate to anyone else, who migth be affected.

Anyway,

thanks for your support!

Laurens
