Network not working after upgrading to latest version of Ubuntu, internet OK

Asked by Mike Taylor

I have just upgraded to the latest version of Ubuntu. My Internet connection is OK, but, I cannot see any of the machines on my windows network. The networking icon has a red square with a white cross in it and when I rollover it it says networking disabled. If I right click it and click enable networking nothing happens. everything was fine before I upgraded to this latest version. I am puzzled as my internet connection works fine.
