Not able to import client.opvn

Hi,
I have Ubuntu 16.04 and I installed network-manager-openvpn package and able to see the menu import a saved vpn configuration in Choose a connection type.. But when I tried to import my openvpn client.opvn its giving me an error "the file client.ovpn cannot be read or does not contain recognized vpn connection information" "Error : the plugin does not support import capability"..

Please give me a solution to solve this issue..

Hello Deva.

I know this post is few months past already, but if someone come here and have the same issues, by the terminal you can do:
sudo openvpn --config (your ovpn.conf) --ca (your certificat) --tls-auth (your key)
It's can be a solution of remplacement.
