Acer aspire one 110 running hot after installing Ubuntu 10.10 netbook

Asked by afif mushtaq

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help with the following:

Installed Ubuntu 10.10 netbook on Acer aspire one 110 with 1GB RAM and 16GB SSD

I have a problem with the netbook being extremely hot to the touch at the palm rest; have not had this problem with either previous Linpus lite and Windows 7.

sensors reveals temp1 at between 61 - 64 degrees c and Fan is running full time. The netbook has never locked up or restarted.

The process that appears to be taking most of the CPU time is dbus-daemon

Performance on other tasks, divx playback /media streaming appears to be very good, despite this high CPU activity.

Thanks
