Do you have any plans to upgrade to netatalk 3.0 any time soon?

There is already v3 of netatalk which brings better use of extended attributes and neater configuration.

Do you have any plans to bum up to the newest version any time soon?

If not I would be happy to give it a go and try to prepare netatalk-3.0 package. Do you have any hints what to watch out for?

We are not the developers here in Launchpad Answers Tracker. I assume that netatalk will be upgraded when the time is come. When ? When it is ready and considered as stable. (for Ubuntu)

Until then, it would be good to search if an independent maintainer has already build a package for netatalk 3.0.

I found one here

is for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (precise pangolin).
I don't know if is working good, but you can test it.
