2.2 is releases with still beta 4 in universe

Asked by Stefan Grotehans

Hi,
I would like to see the release version 2.2 instead of the beta 4 version of netatalk.
The released version is on sourceforge.

Need this for Timemachine backups for Lion.
Thanks
Stefan

Ubuntu will not use beta software in it's official repos. One of the reasons Ubuntu uses the older versions is because they are tried and tested and work. The distribution is aimed at new people wanting to try Ubuntu. they will be tunred off if they see glitches and bugs which are inherent in beta software.

This is the wrong place to post. This is for people with issues. I suggest you either log a bug stating what security and performance issues the new version fixes and/or create a suggestion on http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com

This PPA also has a repo for Natty:
https://launchpad.net/~bradya/+archive/netatalk

If you add it you can install the beta.

Hi,
I am talking about the Oneiric Alpha. Currently there is still the beta 4 of netatalk 2.2 in universe even the 2.2 is already released.
So you answer is okay for Natty but I like to see the lastest version in Oneiric.

Log a bug is all I can suggest and/or suggest it on http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com

It may get included over the course of Alpha 3 / Beta stages anyway but making a noise is never bad

Can you help with this problem?
