Update to net-snmp 5.10

Asked by Tanguy Pelado

Hello all,

We recently encountered a bug in net-snmp V5.9.1 related to DNS name length (https://github.com/net-snmp/net-snmp/issues/476)

This has since been fixed in the source, but the package has yet to arrive at Ubuntu. Is there any timeframe for when we'll see it in the repositories? This breaks many things in our librenms, which depends on net-snmp.

Cheers,

Tanguy

If there is a defect in a software version, then please create a bug report.

Where do you see a version 5.10?
https://sourceforge.net/projects/net-snmp/files/net-snmp/ shows 5.9.3 as the newest one.

Good evening,

I've created a bug report at https://github.com/net-snmp/net-snmp which has been fixed. (see https://github.com/net-snmp/net-snmp/issues/476) ,

Is https://sourceforge.net/projects/net-snmp/files/net-snmp/ different from the github repo? If yes, I can create a ticket here if needed.

Best regards

In addition to this, V5.10 is the master branch of the GitHub repo. Could you help me understand which upstream ubuntu is using for the repos?

Sorry, I was not elaborate enough:
If there is a flaw in the software package in Ubuntu, then please create a bug report in the Ubuntu bug tracker (e.g. by pressing the "Create bug report" button in this question document)

I do not know, what the best source is for net-smtp.
http://www.net-snmp.org/download.html refers to Sourceforge, but shows only versions up to 5.9.1 itself.

Also the Readme file on github https://github.com/net-snmp/net-snmp#readme shows
...
WEB PAGES
...
  http://www.net-snmp.org/
  http://sourceforge.net/projects/net-snmp <----- Sourceforge
  http://www.net-snmp.org/wiki/

In any case, github does not show 5.10 in its list either, https://github.com/net-snmp/net-snmp/tags
