how to interface with the navit navigation engine ?

   Hello everyone,

Am currently working on a project with navit. My goal is to be able to interface with the navit navigation engine.
I want to know how the navigation engine return data to the rendering engine and in which format.
How can I send data to that engine in other to emulate a recorded route from a gpx file.
