You lost me, what does mke2fs /dev/sda4 mean? Or put another way I need a step by step way of doing it.

What Derry meant is that you can use all the available tools: a zip disk is just another file for Linux.
Just check where it is mounted (in Derry's example it was /dev/sda4).
