panel de menu e inicio en desktop no aparece

solo me aparece el escritorio sin ningun menu de entrada a los submenus cuando reinicio me dice que esta tratando de configura panel pero ya lleva dos dias...

Hola reinstale el gnome-panel con

sudo apt-get remove --purge gnome-panel gnome-panel-data

luego intente eliminar el .gnome2 el .gnome2_private con

sudo rm -rf .gnome2 el .gnome2_private

finalmente reinstala

sudo apt-get install gnome-panel gnome-panel-data
