I need to find the application that will open files of type "WAV audio" so the songs will play.

yes. unfortunately, the song won't play.

Try installing VLC mediaplayer. I am sure it works in there.

thanks! i went to synaptic package manager and searched for vlc; i marked them, afterwhich i clicked: apply.
