My eps images do not copy to cd rom and won't send images as e mail.

Asked by phoenix red

When I copy text it burns to cd rw with no problem. However, the graphics and photos with the file are not created. A blank spot appears between the text where the photo or graphic image should be. Could this be because I converted the images to .esp format? Also, when I try to send the file through e mail the text arrives but the images don't. This probably sounds amatureish to you guys but I am one, I suppose. I'm a writer and this is the first time I've put images in a book. The file is too large to send as pdf or .doc through e mail but I tried it anyway. My editor said it's still the same problem that the cd rw disc I sent them had when it arrived as a .doc document in their e mail. It's very important to me to have the images and text be precisely where they should be. If I convert the images to jpeg would that solve my problem?Or some other way? I'm stymied here.I need step by step solution. I'm not real savvy but at least I'm methodical.Let me know who you are and I'll send you a free copy if I can just get this piece of cyber space to encompass my words and images and spew me out in the right form.

Can I assume you are using OpenOffice to write your book?
From your question, I also understand that you tried to export to PDF and that also failed. Were you able to open the pdf with a pdf viewer to check that indeed the images were where they were supposed to be?
Perhaps you want to send me a sample page in the Open Document (odt) format to let me check it?
