duplicate directory file browser

Asked by Steve

Using file browser, under my home directory I have 2 copies of the same directory. Inside they both seem to be exactly the same. If you make a change to one it appears in the other. If you send one to the trash bin they both will go. If you go to the console and do a ls -al only one directory is listed.

Never seen anything like this. Could you take a screenshot? Perhaps this will give us some clues.
