safely removing flash drive on a mac

i am using ubuntu on a mac, and i was wondering how to safely remove a flash drive. ususally i just rag it to the trash. is it the sane here?

it's right click and click unmount drive.

but macs dont have a right or left click its just one thing

Sure they do. You just have to set it up. On a laptop you have to use a key with the click for a right click - I think it's the ctrl or option key. If you have installed Ubuntu there are ways to make that work if it doesn't out of the box. On a desktop you can configure the mighty mouse to right click if you have OSX and I think it will automatically have a right click if you are using Ubuntu (but if not it's just a configure option again).
