How do I Install Netscape Navigator for Linux

Asked by lilmogirl

I need help on how to install Netscape Navigator for Linux to my computer. I have converted my computer to use Ubuntu from Windows XP. I did a complete install of Ubuntu so there are no MS Windows components left on my computer. Microsoft is completely out of the picture and I'd like to keep it that way. Thank you!

Ubuntu comes with Firefox preinstalled.

Some years ago Netscape opened Navigator code for anyone to use.
This code, when used without Netscape branding was called Mozilla Navigator.
Mozilla Firefox is the latest incarnation of this code, kept up to date to current standards.

So you have already installed Netscape :)

And btw, Netscape Navigator is officially dead

---
AOL officially stopped development of Netscape Navigator on 28 December 2007 and originally planned to continue support for the browser in the form of security updates until 1 February 2008. This date was later extended to 1 March 2008. AOL canceled support on that date, but will allow users to download archived versions of the browser. AOL also continues to maintain the Netscape website as an Internet portal.[2]
