Grig,

No problem. Here are the steps to get it back:

1. right-click on the panel, and select "Add to Panel..."

2. Click on "Custom Application Launcher", and click the "Add" button.

3. Enter "Help" (without quotes) in the "Name" field.

4. Enter "yelp" (again without quotes) in the "Command" field.

5. Enter "Get help with Ubuntu" (you got it, without quotes) in the "Comment" field.

6. Then press the "OK" button.

You should now have your help button back.

Please report back here and change the status of your question to "Solved" if this resolves your question.

Thanks!

Harvey

Grig,

Sorry I missed that in your original question, and only caught the part about the panel launcher. Just reinstall gnome-user-guide:

    $ sudo aptitude reinstall gnome-user-guide

That will reinstall the files you inadvertently deleted.

Please report back here and mark this question solved, if I've resolved your question.

Thanks!

Harvey
