cannot change screen resolution

Hi
   I have just installed breezy badger and its not letting me change the screen resolution from 640x480.
                                    Hope you can help

You need to look up your monitor's "horizontal sync" and "vertical refresh" rates, usually found in the monitor manual or manufacturer's website.

Find these ranges, and then do "sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf", scroll down to the line where it says HorizSync and replace the numbers as necessary. Remove the line below, if it exists, which contains resolution values. Save the file, and press ctrl-alt-backspace then log back in.

Sorry, but I can't really help beyond telling you to ensure that the settings are correctly entered in that file.
