how to play video dvd by default with VLC

Asked by j,jackson

I have just installed Linux Mint and downloaded VLC to play video discs and wondered how to make VLC my default player. I can play them in it by clicking FILE/Capture Device/Disc/Device Name/and change this to /media/cdrom0. But I cannot save this command and have to do this every time. How do I save i ?. Any answers would be very welcome . John
