help to install HP Deskjet D2300 printer. Disk that came with the printer to install is not working. Help!!!!

Asked by margot pate

I am trying to install my new HP Deskjet D2300 printer with the CD that came with it and I am finding I am not able to install the driver. The instructions indicate that I use the install button and there is no install button. What I am I doing wrong? I would think that installing a new driver would be fairly easy.
Thanks
Margot

Er, that is most likely to install it on Windows. To install it in Linux install "hplip" with apt-get (I'd go into Synaptic and look for the HP PPD package too) and then go to "System >> Administration >> Printing >> Add New Printer" and follow the instructions.
