Can the new version of Nautilus get the feature "save item view" back?

Nautilus "Files" doesn't save items view style (List or Icons view) after closing window and opening it again. Previous Nautilus release does it, see "https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1295670".
Although this important bug was reported more than a year ago, no action has been seen.
Is it possible to get this feature back or not?
The feature seems only to be dormant as we could enjoy it in the past.

Add to the bug to show interest and add a bit of text to show this. There are tonnes of file managers. Maybe there is one that does what you want. You don't have to stick with nautilus just because it's default installed.

Thanks for the post. I have used others, but there are more useful (and working) plug-ins/actions in Nautilus than in others. And Nemo has one bug that prevents me from switching again to Nemo.

What answer are you hoping for?
The answer to the question 'Can the new version of Nautilus get the feature "save item view" back?' is "yes, this can be done".
Such change, however needs coordination across the different operating system variants that contain nautilus.
The right place for such request is the bug area (both for Ubuntu and Gnome), please refer to the bug reports that are already existing:

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=730517
There is nothing that can be done here in the question area.

Hi Manfred
Thanks a lot for the time to respond to my question! I am encouraged to hear it would be possible. I am trying to encourage any action in the mentioned bug reports but so far there was no real response and the bug report has been waiting for more than a year. I hoped to find out whether it is possible to change something and I am happy to hear and will continue to hope for a fix. Secondly I hope that maybe someone being notified by this question report will be able to contribute to the fixing of this bug.
