tar.bz2
I downloaded a file named x-unikey-
and is a program to type vietnamese. This file can be extracted by "archive manager" .
Questions:
- Can I use it in Ubuntu and how?
- I have a previous version of this program installed (in a different way using "ibus"), should I uninstall (and how)?
Thanks

Depends on the content of the archive. Just stating the filename you have doesn't tell you how to install an application in any OS. Where did you get the file from?

Where did you get that file from? Is there a readme or installation instruction contained in that file?
I tried to find such file on the web, and on http://
If you download this file, can you install it with software-manager?
@luy: I do not think you need to download from any random website to get support for Vietnamese.
Why switch back from a Vietnamese Input engine Ubuntu package from February 2012 to an Input engine from June 2007??
It does not make sense to me....
The one you are trying to install, is 5 years older than the one in the default Ubuntu repositories....
You can compare the code release dates here:
June 2007 release: http://
February 2012: https:/
Which version of Ubuntu are you running???
I think it is better to stick to the following Ubuntu packages instead:
