nautilus hangs in 12.04.1 after opening a file's properties window

Asked by k singh

After a file properties window is opened in nautilus, it fails to respond. Have to kill the nautilus process from the terminal. File permissions are 100666, folder permissions are 40755. Could apparmor be interfering? I have just installed ubuntu 12.04.1 and am facing this problem.

When i make a new user and log in as the new user, i don't have the issue. Surprisingly the issue was resolved somehow AFTER i submitted the bug report on launchpad.net. My home directory has very little space left on the hard drive (around 240MB in a 250GB partition) and it was showing 99% filled hard drive partition. Maybe the buggy behaviour was due to lack of space. I removed some files and folders so that around 1GB space was now showing as free--still very little free space relatively but the system continually tells that something in ubuntu (most probably nautilus) has crashed and its going to send a report.

The root partition and the other parts of the filesystem (except /home) are on another partition of about 30GB which is filled to less than 50% of its capacity.

Thanks for the response. I think the bug may be considered closed.
