What application are you making the tables in? You have associated this question with nautilus which is not a database application.

I am using LibreOffice Writer and any paper with a form, example the "Avery Name Card" form or any document where I have created a similar form with information in the 'blanks' also has the problem.
The total form area is light blue, but if I type where the spaces are, it is entered, but I cannot see it unless I print the page on paper.
If I send the form to my 'old' computer running UBUNTU 1104, this problem does not exist and I can read the data.

11.04 is EOL in literally 2 DAYS. I suggest you clean install with Precise (if you like LTS support of 5 years), or Quantal (Which has the latest features).

You could try closing all Libreoffice apps and running:

mv ~/.config/libreoffice ~/.config/libreoffice_old

Then rerunning.

I wouldn't waste any more time with a release so close to death.

Thank you for the recommendations.
I'm sorry for the confusion, but the problem is on UBUNTU 12.04 in my new computer. When I look at the documents in my old 11.04, it works fine.

I will try your recommendations on the 12.04 computer,
which is a new DELL Lattitude and has a very annoying highly sensitive touchpad, even with the sensitivity and speed turned all the way down, and picks up stray movements above the pad and performs unintended commands randomyl.

 Best,
GH
