Hello,

I have a Samsung Note Mobile phone and can get it to mount but although the SD card files are visible they are only recognized as Rhythmbox files and cannot be opened.

The only solution I have come with so far is to transfer files using Bluetooth.

Regards,

Allan :)

Hello,

With Bluetooth you can transfer any file that the phone can read. I have transferred Music, Photos and Documents with no problems.

I guess at some point of time in the future I will learn how to get the Samsung phone to mount and allow me to transfer files by usb cable. The other method that I use is to remove the phone's external SD card and place it in a card reader.

Regards,

Allan :)

The omgubuntu solution at the top of this question
worked for me in 12.04, but in 12.10 it fails.

Which is interesting since it is not clear that a gnome session manager makes sense with xfce4.
