Format my external hard drive

Asked by Troy

I need to reformat my external hard drive. Ubuntu has taken over 70GB. Windows cannot see this partition. How I can I force a reformat to get rid of all traces of ubuntu? I also need to remove all traces of Grub.

Windoze isn't able to see any format that isn't microshaft. If you google it, you can find programs that will allow window to read Linux formats. If you want to reformat, download gparted from sourceforge.net

Boot on Ubuntu CD.
Choose "Try" instead of "Install".
Then System->Administration->Gparted partition editor
Select ext# and swap partitions and remove then (you will need to click on red button to run registered commands).
After you can extend NTFS partition with Gparted or Windows (second option is theoretically more safe).

Can you help with this problem?
