How do I get files to sink between desk and phone

I can't seem to sink files between phone and desktop. Do I drag a file somewhere. Is there an online help file I am missing?

what model number and make is the phone you have? What version of ubuntu are you running?

Thanks for your interest, BUT I figured out what I was doing wrong. I didn't copy the file to the correct file location. When I did that it worked perfectly.
