Change file modified date format

Ubuntu 11.04, Nautilus file manager, Date Modified date format. I'd like to change the format to a traditional mm/dd/yy format. Anyone know how I might accomplish this feat.

Hi...I believe you can do that by changing the date format in the System-Preferences-Time & Date application.

What is localization of your PC: both language and country ?
Could you paste results of command: echo $LANG $LANGUAGE
