nautilus 3 typing for a folder opens the folder, then cannot type

Asked by Kevin

when in ubuntu 11.10 beta I opened nautilus clicked in the main window and typed the first letters of folder 1 name until it highlighted it, then pressed "enter" which opened the folder, but inside folder 2 I cannot keep typing to search for the next folder name. It seems to inhibit typing, until I click anywhere in the main window again, then type folder 2, press enter, then I cannot type anything to search for folder 3 and so on.
In ubuntu 11.04 I open nautilus and just begin to type because I know the specific folder names I going to - for example: Open nautilus, type k-e-, and highlights "Kevin", press enter, It opens Kevin folder. Then type b-i-l- and it hightlights "bills" folder, press enter and it opens. This is not happening in nautilus 3 of ubuntu 11.10 beta.

I suggest you run:

ubuntu-bug nautilus

and log a bug. Oneiric is not ready and not stable so you will get issues

This is some kind of focus stealing issue. It used to happen a lot in Unity on Oneiric (at least OpenGL Unity, I didn't check 2D fallback) however after several updates it works for me so I think it's not Nautilus fault and definitively can't confirm your bug report. Maybe try to upgrade.

With Oneiric, I have lot of focus stealing issues, as I switched from Firefox to software managing downloaded file.

Can you help with this problem?
