Recover files before formatting computer

Hi, Last day I formatted my computer and there was installed Ubuntu 10.04, and all of my files are deleted, I had a huge folder of "BLENDER". How can I restore my folder with files and videos in it. Please help me...

If your data was important you will have made backups in case your drive fails or the data gets damaged. Your data is important, right?

Use foremost. You will more than likely NOT get ALL the files. Why do you not have a backup??

Yeah, as actionparsnip has said, use foremost.

You should backup your files. I'd recommend Deja Dup (https://launchpad.net/deja-dup) for its easy of use. You shouldn't really rely on file recovery utilities. Backups are always the best.
