Home Folder - places

In my home folder, I want to add folders under 'Places'. I want to add a folder to put scans in. I can't add any - it always tries to go under another folder name.

If you run nautilus and drag the folders to the left panel and they will appear in the places menu.

I have ubuntu (linux) and don't think I have nautilus?

Yes you do, it's the default file manager.
