A file size appears fine on Ubuntu but 0 kb on windows.

Asked by dtulchin

If I for example have a video file created on ext4 and then copied to a NTFS external hard drive, with ubuntu it shows up as normal on that hard drive but with windows it shows up as 0 kb on that hard drive. I dont know if this is a permission issue, corrupt file or something else. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I still get wary when I write ext to ntfs.

I would delete the copied file, then recopy the original.

It may not be a bad idea to check the (health) status of the ntfs file systems in windows, running chkdsk on them.

Can you help with this problem?
