unknown file extension

i have this hard drive brought to me by a friend...its has some data i wanna access on my windows 7.I believe it was done on an ubuntu machine,but i still can't find the right program to access the file.please i need help urgently.

well it would help if you gave us the file name. or you can just google it, which would be faster, as that is what i'd be doing.

i just discorvered it encrypted with Encfs! how do i decrypt it in windows....or do i go back to ubuntu for that?

You need to go back to Ubuntu for that.
