Safari with Wine "Non-executable"

Asked by Mary Pratt

I downloaded Wine, then Safari, but when I try to open SafariSetup, it tells me that it is non-executable. How do I fix this to open things in wine?

By default, files are not marked executable when you download them from the web. This helps to prevent the accidental running of malware.

If you're sure a file is trusted and you want to run it, right-click on it and click Properties. In the properties window, click the Permissions tab. To the right of "Execute:" there is a checkbox labeled "Allow executing file as program" -- check that box and click the Close button.
