How can I remove item "Desktop" from menu "Places"

Maverick Meerkat: I want to remove the item "Desktop" from menu "Places" I am not using it and menu will be easier for use. How can I do it?

You have some control over the menu layrout if you use the gconf-editor and then look under "apps->nautilus->Desktop".

There are controls for desktop only. (Icons visibile right on desktop). But no controls for change menu "places".

as far as i know you can configure it via the the bookmark menu in nautilus.

Open nautilus and choose bookmarks menu -> edit bookmarks

There are places visible in left panel under the line only. No desktop, no home...
